                                                              IDEAS FOR TYPES OF PARTIES

Teddy bear party
This is a good idea for babies.
You can start with
teddybear invitations.
You can hire a teddy bear mascot through an entertainment bureau that you can find in your local yellow pages, and of course use teddy bears as centerpieces on the table.  Games for wee little ones just aren't possible, but
coloring pages of teddy bears might work   You can download pictures from the internet to save money.
Read a teddy bear story, and if possible give the book to each of the children to take home.
There are also little
songs to sing.
Instead of goodie bags to take home, give the children a small stuffed bear to take home.
If you are serving sandwiches, cut out the bread in teddy bear shape.  Use a favorite filling being careful of any peanuts for those who might be allergic.

Tea party
Ask the guests to bring a special doll.  If children are very little, serve on paper products, but for older children, tea services are wonderful
You can create an easy centerpiece by placing flowers in a tea pot, set upon a doilee in the middle of the table.
Dress up is always fun.  Have a collection of shoes, hats, gloves, dresses, some of which you can find at thrift stores, or raiding friends and relatives closets.
You might want to plan some games and there is even a tea set the guests can color

Passing a sugar cube on a spoon around the table

Give each guest a pile of sugar cubes.  Set a timer, and see how may cubes they can stack before the timer goes off.

G A M E S
For children 3 and over

GAMES ARE SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF ANY BIRTHDAY PARTY.
IF YOU ARE HAVING A PARTY AT HOME, I THINK IT BEST TO HAVE RELAY GAMES, THAT WAY NO ONE IS THE "LOSER."

IF YOU DIVIDE THE CHILDREN AND PUT THEM INTO TWO

TEAMS, THEY WILL THEN COMPETE AGAINST EACH TEAM, RATHER THAN EACH OTHER.

WITH THIS METHOD, THERE ARE NO PRIZES, BECAUSE THE CHILDREN ARE HAPPY AS A TEAM JUST TO HAVE WON!

HERE ARE SOME RELAY GAMES IDEAS YOU CAN PLAY WITH ARTICLES YOU WILL ALREADY HAVE IN YOUR HOME:

POTATOE RELAY
1 SPOON FOR EACH PLAYER
1 POTATOE PER TEAM

EACH TEAM TRIES TO GET TO THE FINISH LINE AND BACK TO THEIR TEAM LETTING THE NEXT PLAYER RUN TO FINISH LINE.  THE TEAM THAT FINISHES FIRST WINS

ANKLE RELAY
EACH TEAM MEMBER MUST GRAB THEIR (OWN) ANKLES, RUN TO THE FINISH LINE AND BACK.  THE NEXT PLAYER DOES THE SAME.  FIRST TEAM FINISHED WINS

MAGAZINE RELAY
EACH TEAM HAS ONE MAGAZINE.  THE FIRST PLAYER PUTS THE MAGAZINE ON THEIR HEAD AND RUNS TO FINISH LINE  AND BACK GIVING THE MAGAZINE TO THE NEXT PLAYER.   IF THE MAGAZINE FALLS OFF, THEY STOP, PUT IT BACK ON THEIR HEAD AND CONTINUE.  FIRST TEAM TO FINISH ALL MEMBERS, WINS

BALLOON/SPOON RELAY
EACH TEAM HAS A BALLOON
EACH PLAYER HAS A SPOON

THE FIRST PLAYER PUTS THE BALLOON ON THE SPOON, RUNS, SKIPS, JUMPS OR WALKS TO THE FINISH LINE AND BACK, HANDING THE BALLOON TO THE NEXT PLAYER AND SPOON.  FIRST TEAM FINISHED WINS
